Hurts have been knocking about for a couple of years now. Their first two albums – Happiness and Exile – both reached the top ten in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and Finland. Multinational mothers. That’s no mean feat.
The couple initially met outside a Manchester club and got talking about music whilst their friends had a good old fashioned fight. Hurts recorded an amateur music video in 2009 for Wonderful Life using a female dancer who’d answered their ad in a shop window; she got paid the handsome sum of £20 for her efforts. After uploading the video to YouTube on 21 April 2009, it quickly went viral. The video’s since had well over 21 million views, putting it in the Top 200 Most Watched Videos on YouTube.
