2) Mega-Earth Kepler-10c (Godzilla)
This beautiful blob, Mega-Earth Kepler-10c, is also refered to as the “Godzilla of Earths” because it’s more than twice as big and 17 times as heavy as our home. Its sibling Kepler 10b hanging out in the background is a world made almost entirely of lava.
This pair of planets are sat about 570 light years away in the constellation Draco, to put that into perspective, that’s further away than Australia. The weird thing about Mega-Earth Kepler-10c, is that before this Godzilla Earth was found, scientists didn’t think such a large solid planet could be made. They figured that if it was that big it would suck in all the hydrogen and turn into a gas giant like Jupiter. Kepler proved us wrong, and we don’t know how.
