“Banana Wall” by Stefan Sagmeister

The recession has hit us all in different ways. Low priced home improvement has had desperate dad’s hitting up Sainsbury’s rather than Travis Perkins. Trendsetter Stefan Sagmeister built his ‘Banana Wall’ in 2008 for an exhibition at Deitch Projects in New York. He combined yellow and green bananas to write a message of the importance of self-confidence only for it to fade as the green bananas go yellow, and the message to reappear as the yellow bananas turn brown first. Although cost effective, time devalues this bit of DIY faster than cheap MDF.
