“Self Portrait With A Gun’ by Chris Trueman
A treasured family moment captured by a photograph can light up a room, strike nostalgia in the hearts of your relatives and inspire you to paint with ants. Yeah, that’s right, ants have now become a medium of art! Next we’ll use worms as rawl plugs and spider legs as dental floss. Californian artist Chris Trueman created ‘Self Portrait With a Gun’ adapted from a photograph of his younger brother. The ants native to his area in San Francisco proved too small for his masterpiece, so he began to order them online from a breeder. Trueman ordered over 40,000 live ants he then had to kill to use in his piece. This art screams sadistic hot mess and for $35,000 you’d have to be mad rich to buy it.
