It’s never nice to see someone get brutally assaulted on the floor of a 7-Eleven, but if it has to happen to someone, then why not a thief who’s casually robbing the place as though the employees don’t have the balls to stop him.
Here’s the clip from Stockton, California, which went viral last week:
Sikh grocery store owner was told that “there ain’t nothing you can do” repeatedly and that “ayy, just let him go” as they were being robbed. The Sikhs disagreed. pic.twitter.com/ZIb5CVLMNl

Amazingly, this whole ordeal took place across the street from the Stockton Police Department Headquarters, which is now ‘investigating the assault of a 7-Eleven robbery suspect by two workers’. You see, although California law gives a homeowner the right to confront an intruder with deadly force, that right does not extend to commercial property subjected to shoplifting, which means these two Sikh gentlemen broke the law by battering this would-be thief as he just brazenly stole from their store.
As of now, the investigation is still ongoing so you just have to hope that common sense will prevail and justice is done in the end. Did the Sikh dudes go a little too far by repeatedly bashing the thief’s legs with a stick while he was already on the floor begging for mercy? Probably. But then clearly there’s no other real deterrent in place in California if criminals are robbing stores that are literally across the road from a police HQ. No doubt a GoFundMe for these lads’ legal funds is imminent… good luck boys!
