I suppose we shouldn’t laugh at people who are going out with people who are way younger or older than them because they usually seem really happy with each other, but sometimes you have gotta admit that it’s pretty weird.

Case in point this couple, 62 year old grandmother Cheryl McGregor and her 26 year old husband Quran McCain from Rome, Georgia who for some reason decided to appear on This Morning yesterday to talk about how they were very much in love and desperate to have a baby. The two met back in 2012 when they were both working at Dairy Queen and Quran was just 15 (errrrr bit creepy?), but have managed to stay the course and feel like they’re ready to take the next step, despite claims that Cheryl is too old and won’t have enough time for another baby as she’s had seven children already.

Here’s what she had to say:

They said I guess just because of my age I can’t take care of a baby, what? I have got more energy than half of these kids that are taking care of babies now and I don’t see it as a problem.

No I can not have a baby myself but we have done the surrogacy thing where we already had three surrogates and right now we are looking for another one and also maybe adoption.

Its been a battle with our families, us trying to prove to them that it wasn’t a joke.

Out of my seven children they were saying he was using me, we weren’t using each other, we can’t help who our hearts fall in love with.

So it’s been a battle, out of seven of my children I really have two but one who really stands by us through everything and it took a while to come to that conclusion that they like him.

Well it is kinda weird that a 52 year old woman would start dating a 15 year old boy and I’m sure they would be called a paedophile if it was the other way round, but I suppose they’ve been together for ten  years now so maybe we should let them off? Never really sure how to approach that kinda stuff though I have to be honest. It’ s initially really strange and weird that something like that happens, but I guess it’s real if they’re together a decade?

As for the baby stuff, it sounds like Cheryl knows what she wants but maybe the fact that six of her seven children don’t even talk to her anymore might be a sign that it’s not a good idea to have any others? Also the fact that she already looks like the walking dead probably means it’s not that great a plan for her to have another one as she’ll probably have passed away in a couple of years and be leaving Qaran to raise the kid on her own. Just thinking practically here. .
