3) Greenough Family Massacre
Bill Mitchell, a farm hand for the Greenough family in northern Perth spent the 21st of February 1993 getting smashed on booze, weed and speed before things turned nasty. Karen MacKenzie, age 31, and her three children, Daniel (16), Amara (7), and Katrina (5) were all slaughtered.
Daniel got axed first as he went out to investigate the sound of Mitchell’s car turning into their remote farm. Karen was asleep in the lounge and bore the brunt of his weapon next, followed by a post-mortem sexual assault. The two little girls were asleep in their beds and got the exact same treatment.
It’s described as the worst crime in Western Australia and you’ll be happy to hear Mitchell is in jail, and his request for parole failed in September 2013. The details were considered so grizzly that they were never released.
