It’s been a while since we’ve heard some crazy family stories – what with the Coronavirus pandemic and everything – but that’s all set to change thanks to a new show called ‘Smothered’ from The Learning Channel.

As the title might suggest, the series will follow the real life stories of adults who are still overtly parented by their mothers, effectively ‘Smothering’ them – see what they did there? The first episode looks at the relationship between 55 year old Mary and her 19 year old daughter Brittani and reveals that the pair shower together every day.

I have been taking showers and helping Brittani since she was five.

The best way to start our day is in the shower.

I love her, and I don’t see anything wrong with it. I don’t believe I set out to have a relationship this close to Brittani, it’s something that was supposed to be.

I started doing it because Brittani was having panic attacks because of the hot water.

That’s kind of how I started getting in the shower with her, just to comfort her because she would freak out.

That grew into an every-other-day thing. When she was smaller, it was every day.

I mean that is weird however which way you look at it, right? You’ve gotta start growing up and doing things for yourself at some point and you should probably want to and be able to start taking showers by yourself when you’re about eight or something. Completely ridiculous that these two are still acting like this.

But that’s not even before we get to the issue of Frank at the end of the clip? What the hell is he thinking getting involved with these two psychos? There is no way that this is going to end well for him and I dread to think what he’s going through every day in that house with them. It almost makes me want to tune into the show, but I don’t think we’re gonna go that far just yet.
