5) Wolfdog Wipe Out
Wolfdogs, as the name suggests, are a mix of domestic dog and wolf. Dogs are wolves really, a few thousand years ago some wolves started hanging out with humans and we selectively bred them until we came up with the maddening array of freaky mutts we have today. It’s illegal to own wolfdogs in some of the United States because they’re a little bit trigger happy. It’s difficult to know how much wolf and how much dog DNA there is in each individual, and due to inbreeding the mental state of these wolfdogs can be a little on the twitchy side.
Sandra Piovesan owned nine wolfdogs which she had reared from puppies. Nine seems a bit excessive doesn’t it? It turned out that nine wasn’t just an overkill, it was lethal.
One Monday morning Piovesan didn’t turn up for a morning meeting and alarm bells went off. She was found mauled to death in the pen with the nine wolfdogs. Maybe she should have read our handy guide on what to do if you’re attacked by a dog? We’re always here to help, people.
So let that be a lesson to you children of the internet. Don’t own any pet that can kill you because, believe it or not, that raises the chances that you will be killed by your pet. Who knew?
