3) Moral Compass?

A lot of religious people argue that if it wasn’t for the Bible or Koran etc. that we would have no moral compass, we wouldn’t know right from wrong. They truly believe that religion invented morals. LOL.
Have you read the 10 Commandments lately? No, why would you, they’re bullshit. But, seeing as American Christians think that they should be basis of their legal system, and America is the supreme super power, I think it’s worth wheeling them out to laugh at:
- Thou shallt have no other gods before me – so right off the bat we’re getting a bit jealous. Perhaps if god actually did something once in a while it would be easier to believe in him.
- Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image – OK, no statues. Go it.
- Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain – OK, so we’re nearly a third of the way in and we’re still getting god being jealous.
- Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy – chill on a Saturday, no probs.
- Honour thy father and thy mother – half way through and there’s a sensible one! Yay! But what if your parents are sadists? Or murderers, or just downright mean? But fine, that’s a good one. Well done god.
- Thou shalt not kill – very good idea, innovative. It’s worth pointing out that there are millions of people throughout the world that have never read a Bible that realise killing people is wrong. We don’t need to be taught that.
- Thou shalt not commit adultery – OK, fine. I’m not sure it should be illegal though? The prison system is full enough.
- Thou shalt not steal – obvs.
- Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour – also translated as ” love your neighbor as yourself”. But what if he’s a dick bruv? No, joking apart, I reckon this is the only law they would need to keep. It basically means – be nice and don’t do anyone over. Common sense.
- Thou shalt not covet your neighbour’s wife/house/servants/animals – so don’t be jealous… that’s a bit rich after the first couple of commandments, isn’t it god? So you can be jealous but we can’t? That’s called a double standard mate.
So, do you think it should be illegal to feel jealous? Nah.
