5) More Dead Dolphins – England
The recent storms we’ve been enduring on our British Isles spelled trouble for a bunch of sea creatures. Apparently the normal food that dolphins and porpoises would eat all swam out to deeper water to escape the turmoil consequently starving them to death. I don’t know why the dolphins didn’t just swim out after their supper though?
Over the last few weeks the south coast of England has had the corpses of dolphins, porpoises, turtles, lobsters, goose barnacles, long-spined sea scorpions, puffins, starfish and whelk eggs wash up on our sandy beaches.
I don’t think the humans can be blamed for this one.
There we go, and that was just one small selection of the mass animal deaths that happened in the last three weeks alone. There’s plenty more I could have popped up. Maybe I’ll do a monthly post on animal deaths. It’s depressing but it’s pretty interesting to get a snap shot of what’s going on as far as animal corpses are concerned don’t you think?
