The first day back at school is rough, especially on teachers. Summer’s come to an end and now you’re trapped in a classroom with a group of badly-behaved brats until next July. It’s a tense and stressful time! You’ve got to prepare lesson plans, mark homework all night, and basically brace yourself for a new batch of little rascals to enter and ruin your life.

Which is why it’s hard to blame 3rd grade teacher Kimberley Coats, 53, for getting bladdered on her first day back at Perkins-Tryon Intermediate School in Oklahoma. Unfortunately she’s not very good at pretending to be sober and so ended up getting pulled out of class for an interrogation that resulted in her taking a breathalyzer test and eventually admitting she was off her face on wine:

Jokes aside, it’s a pretty sad situation. This lady is clearly an alcoholic and cannot help herself. Obviously that doesn’t excuse her being drunk around kids in a classroom and driving to work that morning, but you still have to feel sorry for her. Especially now that the bodycam footage has wound up online and even shows like Inside Edition are covering it:

Here’s hoping she gets the help and support she needs and that going viral in this manner ends up saving her life and career in the long run.

Besides, it’s not the worst thing we’ve seen in a classroom.
