If you’re a lady who fancies the bad boy/criminal type, there’s no better pickup joint than a men’s jail. Over at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham, Wales, 18 female guards have been sacked after proving that this is the case.
Figures obtained via Freedom of Information requests found that an abundance of ‘illicit affairs’ had taken place at the prison over the past six years, with 18 guards fired for having sexual relationships with inmates.
As per MailOnline, Jennifer Gavan, 27, Ayshea Gunn, 27, and Emily Watson, 26, have all been jailed within the last three years for having relationships with prisoners at the £250million prison – the biggest one in Britain.
A search of Gunn’s bedroom revealed photos of her kissing and hugging ‘dangerous’ inmate Khuram Razaq, 29, in his cell. She was jailed for one year.
Emily Watson, 26, was also jailed for a year for having sex with prisoner John McGree in his cell, and performing a sex act on him on two other occasions. Jennifer Gavan, 27, was given 8 months for kissing Alex Coxon, 25, in his cell and sending him nudes.
Prisoners at ‘Britain’s cushiest jail’ are allowed to use laptops and mobile phones in their ‘rooms’ and have access to internet and a ‘health and wellbeing centre’, which sounds like a pretty sweet prison experience even without the added bonus of having sex with the guards.
In 2019, one ex-prisoner, known only as Christopher, who had been sentenced to 11 months for assault, told a TV programme that loud music, drink and drugs were commonplace there, thanks to the inexperienced guards. At the time, he said:
The jail needs to be run more like a jail. At the moment it’s being run like a youth club.
Sounds like it’s a non-stop sex party in there. If bad boys are what these ladies were looking for then they definitely round a target rich environment working at HMP Berwyn. The men there are bored, lonely, missing their wives/girlfriend and have all the time in the world. Even a moderately attractive prison guard willing to shag you is basically hitting the prison jackpot.
Unfortunately for them, they all got found out and I’m sure the same will happen to the girls working there currently.
