8) Food Dressing

We all know only too well that women in adverts are photoshopped to within an inch of their life, making them appear barely human. We also know that the Big Mac in the advert looks absolutely fucking nothing like that when you buy one. But yet, they work.
Here are some of the tricks they use to pretty up food for advertising purposes. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to call it lying. Remember these when you’re next salivating over a delicious looking advert:
Motor oil often replaces syrup or honey… mmmm… delicious cars.
Soaked tampons heated up produce steam.
Glue or shampoo works better than milk on cereals.
Brown shoe polish browns up burgers a treat.
Burgers are often propped up by toothpicks and beefed up (LOL) with cardboard.
Hairspray makes vegetables and fruits look fresher.
Antacid tablets make fizzy drinks fizz.
Glycerin gives things a delicious (and slightly poisonous) icy sheen.
Mashed potatoes replace ice cream – they look more solid and they don’t melt. Spuds are also creamed up and injected into things that need a little more body.
Deodorant spray makes grapes look fresh.
