14) THE MAZE

You know that feeling when you’re in a shopping centre, supermarket or department store and you suddenly realize you’re a little bit lost and confused?
You might curse the shop layout designer under your breath for being such a moron, but he isn’t a moron at all, his design has worked.
A confusingly laid out shop has the effect of slowing you down; all of a sudden you are looking at more things on sale. Perhaps you forget why you were there in the first place and make some impulse buys whilst you think.
They know us far too well.
That’ll do for today, there’s loads more of course. Advertisers and marketers are a sneaky bunch. Like I said at the start, they’re a necessary evil to a certain extent, but that doesn’t mean I have to like them.
Personally, and I urge you to do the same, I try to ignore adverts as much as possible, especially TV ads. They aren’t all liars, but you can bet your bottom dollar they aren’t entirely truthful either.
