4) The Boll Weevil Monument: Alabama, USA
HA HA HA! God bless America for making this a reality. Good taste and style points all round. It was built in 1919 to honour the humble boll weevil for its contribution to their agricultural past. Nutters. Basically what happened was, they grew cotton, but then this weevil fella moved in from Mexico and smashed their crops to bits. The farmers then decided to switch to peanut farming and made top dollar out of it. That’s the history of this statue in a nut shell (JOKES).
