6) The Gruesome Gharial

The gharial’s relatives – crocs and alligators – certainly will take your arm off as soon as look at you. But the gharial is a gentler soul who prefers smaller snacks like fish, insects and amphibians.

I say it “chooses” smaller prey, but actually it doesn’t have a choice. Unlike its murderous cousins the gharial’s jaw is weak and brittle and it simply couldn’t eat us. It probably wants to, it might even fantasize about eating a whole human, but it just can’t. Sorry gharial.
