9) Vicious Vampire Bats

Yes, vampire bats are a real thing. Cool, huh? But there’s no need to worry, unless you’re a cow or something. They live in South and Central America and they love to drink blood.
After dark, the vampire bats find a sleeping mammalian host, land gently on its back and tuck in. They make small incisions in the animal’s skin, if there are any hairs in their chosen spot they shave them off with their incisors! The bat’s saliva acts as an anticoagulant so that the blood doesn’t clot whilst they’re licking the wound.
They very rarely feed on humans, and if they did, you would be asleep and probably wouldn’t notice any way.
