9) Winston Churchill

The inspiration for a nodding dog in an insurance advert is probably not how Churchill wanted to be remembered. He did pretty well in life considering he was rubbish at school, didn’t get on with his parents and had a terrific lisp. Winston was drafted to Cuba as a youth which is where he picked up his famous cigar habit. His part in the war is well-known, but he was also the man who introduced a bill to bring in the minimum wage. He died at the grand old age of 90, and 350 million people watched his funeral on television.
