Maya Angelou is an American author, activist and poet. She’s published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry. Angelou is credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning more than fifty years. She even spent some time as the restaurant cook and a prostitute at her mother’s brothel. She also managed to fit in a career as a singer and dancer in her spare time.
