The only time you’re likely to pay attention to your coccyx is if you hit them hard. It will feel like the pain is going to tear you a new brain cavity.
This stubby bunch of bones used to be a tail. It hasn’t become completely useless though, it helps hold you in position when sitting, it’s a useful anchorage point for muscles and it helps maintain the shape of your anus, which we all use frequently.
