8) Matterhorn, Switzerland
The Matterhorn is part of the Pennine Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Its apex hits around 4,500 metres into the sky, making it one of the highest peaks in the Alps.
It just stands there looking daunting all day long and once the sun starts to sink it gets its jazzy clothes on.
9) Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Angkor Wat sits in the middle of a mental complex of ancient palaces spread out over tens of square miles. It’s the largest religious monument in the world but it was only cut out of the jungle that had consumed it a few decades ago. It’s now a UNESCO registered attraction and even has a place on the flag of Cambodia.
This place has been making sunsets look incredible since the 12th Century.
10) Mount Bromo, Indonesia
This active volcano stands at well over 2 km tall. It is mighty and could kill you if it wanted to. The mount sits amongst a huge flat plane of land making it all the more dramatic at sunset with all the shadows and whatever going on.
It hasn’t erupted since 2011 so you should be OK.
So where you off to for your next holiday? I’m off to West Wittering.
