A Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange really does have layers to its disturbance. On one level the mindless violence and sexual assaults carried out by Alex (Malcolm McDowell) and his droogs would be enough to make you squirm in your seat. But scratch the surface a little more and you’ve got an underlay of social correctness and a world that lives somewhere between left wing and right wing politics with not much difference between the two. Alex also speaks of free will through the film whilst later being subject to “The Ludovico Technique” in where his free will is effectively taken aware. The film is also said to have communist overtones due to it’s slight ties to Russian culture.
