A Fast Food Restaurant Is Now Selling Coronavirus Burgers

I’m fairly hopeful that when the Coronavirus pandemic is finally beaten that we’ll all be able to look back on this time and laugh about it, but I don’t really think that now is the time to be releasing novelty food items based around the virus.

Not everyone agrees with my perspective though, as evidenced by this creation courtesy of Chef Hoang Tung and his Hanoi restaurant in Vietnam named Pizza Home. Tung reckons that he’s devised the burgers to boost morale during the lockdown period in the country, but I’ve gotta question if seeing a gross looking burger like this is really going to cheer anyone up, especially when they’re quarantined and fearing for their lives?

Anyway, apparently Tung and his team are spending hours even day moulding green tea stained burger buns with little crown like protuberances to mimic the appearance of the virus. I guess he probably needs something to do all day at this point right?

Here’s what he had to say about his idea:

We have this joke that if you are scared of something, you should eat it.

That’s why the coronavirus isn’t scary any more after you eat a burger in the shape of the virus itself.

That way of thinking spreads joy to others during this pandemic.

Maybe that’s just a Vietnam way of thinking because I do not get that at all, especially when a phrase over here is ‘you are what you eat’. Seems like it has been pretty popular over there though as Tung is claiming that he’s selling over 50 of the burgers a day. Guess he does know what he’s talking about, even if I think it’s stupid.

Over in Vietnam there are currently 148 cases of the virus over there but no deaths as of yet. Sounds like they’re doing a better job over there with their Coronavirus burgers than we are over here hey? Typical.

For more of the same, at least drug dealers are lowering their prices because of Coronavirus. It’s the little things.
